Former OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei and his team officially announced on January 27 the launch of Nothing, an innovative technology company based in London, UK.
Nothing, which received $7 million in seed funding in December 2020, has notable investors including Tony Fadell, the "father of the iPod," video maker Casey Neistat, Twitch co-founder Kevin Lin, Reddit founder Steve Huffman and Josh Buckley, CEO of Product Hunt.
Nothing will focus on innovative consumer technology products that bring convenient technologies invisible to consumers, Pei said.
Nothing's first product will be released in the first half of this year, and it's still unclear what that product will be. Nothing will likely focus on consumers of the younger demographic, with a greater emphasis on design and aesthetics, according to Pei.
Nothing's website, Nothing.tech, is now launched, and more information about the startup's current events will be posted on Nothing's Instagram and Twitter accounts.
Previously, Swedish-Chinese Carl Pei was widely known as OnePlus co-founder, with whom Pete Lau and others founded OnePlus in 2013. Over the course of seven years, Pei helped build the OnePlus division for overseas markets, leading the mid-range series Nord launched in Europe and India this year.
