A doctor used a card wallet with a screen to make a payment in the staff cafeteria during a recent pilot of Digital RMB at Shanghai Tongren Hospital.
The doctor used a Digital RMB "hard wallet" card with an ink screen window in the upper right corner that displays the amount spent, card balance, number of payments, and other information.
According to the hospital, it will further pilot the use of Digital RMB in payment scenarios such as hospital consultation and payment, medical checkups, and parking fees.
The pilot is the first time to realize the hard wallet payment mode without a phone. It provides the possibility for people who have difficulty using smart terminals to use Digital RMB to cross the digital divide.
Digital RMB is a digital form of legal tender issued by the People's Bank of China, which has value characteristics and legal reimbursement, and supports controlled anonymity.
