Xiaomi tweeted on Tuesday that it's committed to reducing the plastic used in its packaging by 60 percent starting in Europe, with the Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite expected to be the first to take that step.
Xiaomi only refers to a reduction in the outer box material for the retail version, not the internal parts of its phone, and users will still get all the accessories, which include a charger, USB-C cable, and even a clear case.

As for why Xiaomi chose to send this tweet at this time, we can't rule out the possibility that it was inspired by the recent removal of the included charger for Apple's iPhone 12 series.
It could all be just a marketing ploy, after all, numerous Android manufacturers have previously mocked Apple for eliminating the 3.5 mm headphone jack, but those manufacturers have since started eliminating the headphone jack themselves.
