On September 24, two well-known game makers, Lilith and miHoYo, chose to let their games Rise of Kingdoms and Genshin Impac avoid being available on the mainstream Android app stores.

Rise of Kingdoms announced on its official website that it opens for pre-download on September 22 at 10:00 a.m. and opens its servers on September 23 at 10:00 a.m. It was released on the App Store, the Rise of Kingdoms website, TapTap, and 9Game.

Insiders point out that the two games may be the result of a failure to agree on a profit-sharing ratio with the Android App Store.
Like Apple's 30% "Apple tax", the Android channel also charges a "toll", which is usually higher than Apple's. This makes it difficult for game makers to get a share of the profits from the Android app store. This makes the actual percentage of profit that game makers can earn in the Android channel lower than in the Apple channel.
