Beijing's 5G subscriber base has exceeded 5.06 million, and at the same time, the city has also achieved full coverage capability for 5G independent networking, according to Beijing Daily.
Since the official commercial launch of 5G in 2019, Beijing's communications industry has been speeding up the construction of Beijing's 5G network with the goal of 5G independent networking.
Beijing has already opened a total of more than 44,000 5G base stations in the city, and will have at least 50,000 by the end of the year.
This will enable continuous outdoor coverage inside the fifth ring road and the city's sub-center, as well as precise coverage of key areas and typical application scenarios outside the fifth ring road.
The report quoted the Beijing Municipal Communications Administration as saying that the 5G networks of China's three major carriers in Beijing have been able to meet the practical application needs of end users in various industries such as industrial Internet, vehicle networking and telemedicine in the city, based on the characteristics of 5G independent networks such as high speed, large connectivity, low latency and high reliability.
