Short video sharing app TikTok was the most downloaded non-gaming app worldwide for August 2020, according to market research firm Sensor Tower.
TikTok saw more than 63.3 million installs in August, a 1.6 percent increase from the same period of last year.
The countries with the most installs of the app in August were Indonesia at 11 percent of its total downloads and Brazil at 9 percent.
ZOOM was the second most installed non-gaming app worldwide last month with more than 52.2 million installs, 22.2 times its downloads from August 2019.
The countries with the largest number of ZOOM installs were India at 25 percent, followed by the United States at 19.5 percent.
Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp rounded out the top five most installed non-gaming apps worldwide for the month.
TikTok was the also top grossing non-gaming app worldwide for August 2020 with more than $88.1 million in user spending, 6.3 times its revenue in August 2019, according to Sensor Tower.
About 85 percent of the popular short video app's revenue was from Douyin in China, followed by 7.8 percent from the United States and 1.4 percent from Turkey, the data showed.
TikTok keeps No. 1 spot as top grossing non-gaming app in August
