Redmi Note 8 price in India has gone up by INR 500, the fifth time its price was raised since its launch.
The phone started at Rs. 9,999 ($133) when it was first launched in India, and since then it's gotten more and more expensive.
This is partly due to a rise in GST on smartphones in India.
The Redmi Note 8 now starts at Rs 12,499 after a Rs 500 hike in price. This price is for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant.
But thankfully, the price of the 6GB + 128GB variant of the Redmi Note 8 has not been increased this time around and is still is available at INR 14,499.
The Redmi Note 8 features a 6.3-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 2340× 1080.
It's powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC with four rear cameras and a 13-megapixel selfie camera, the main camera on the back is 48 megapixels with an aperture of f/1.8.
It has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, a 4000m Ah battery, and 18W fast charging support.
In May, Redmi had hiked prices for the Redmi 8A Dual, Redmi 8, and Redmi Note 8 price in India.
Redmi 8 was priced at Rs 7,999 at launch, with the increase in the cost of goods and service tax it has since gone up to Rs. 8,999.
In early May, the price of the Redmi 8 went up again to Rs. 9,299. In late May, the price again went up to Rs. 9,499.
