At today's Huawei Consumer Business Summit, held on the sidelines of the Huawei Analyst Conference, Tan Donghui, vice president of Huawei Consumer Business Cloud Services, unveiled the latest developments in Huawei's HMS ecology.
In the first quarter of this year, Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) reached 650 million monthly active users worldwide, up 25 percent year-on-year, Tan Donghui said.
He said that in the first quarter HMS had over 1.4 million registered developers worldwide, and by May this year that number had grown to 1.5 million, up 115% year-on-year.
The number of applications accessing HMS Core exceeded 60,000, up 66.7 percent year-over-year, he said.
Tan Donghui also said that Huawei hopes to make it and that in the next few years Huawei will hold a place in the world's top mobile ecosystems.
At the P40 series handset launch in March this year, Huawei announced that the P40 series handset will come with its own HMS service and AppGallery app store, without the use of Google's GMS and Play store.
This is also the first time Huawei has fully implemented its own services on its flagship phones.
Huawei HMS has reached more than 170 countries worldwide, with 400 million monthly active users.
