Baidu today released its "Cloud Phone", by which users can remotely control the virtual device in real time, and run Android Apps on the cloud.
Baidu claims that Baidu Cloud Phone = ARM server ร cloud computing ร Android OS is a virtual mobile phone with all applications running on the cloud.
It is based on the ARM server and ARM virtualization technology independently developed by Baidu, and can provide a clustered management and control platform for virtual mobile phones in the cloud.
Users can remotely control Cloud Phone in real time to achieve cloud running of Android App.
In other words, Baidu Cloud Phone allows the user's mobile phone or other terminal devices to "add" another set of Android programs that run on the cloud and synchronize the "picture" to the phone in real time.
Baidu Cloud Phone currently covers four major application scenarios, namely cloud games, cloud applications, cloud VR and cloud office.
Baidu said that in cloud gaming scenarios, Baidu Cloud Phone can allow users to get rid of hardware performance limitations, including old mobile phones, TV large screens, smart watches, smart speakers with screens, etc., can play large 3D games.
All games run in the cloud, and users' gaming devices do not need to be equipped with any high-end processors and graphics cards, but only need basic video decompression capabilities.
In addition, Baidu Cloud Phone supports "cloud VR" running on a cloud server, and encodes the running display output and sound output through the network to the terminal in real time, and the terminal performs real-time decoding and displays the output.
To play VR, you no longer need to buy a host and a headset. The terminal equipment only needs to provide network capabilities, video decoding capabilities, and human-computer interaction capabilities.
Currently, Baidu Cloud Phone supports 4K resolution, 4,096 video code rate, 60 frame rate, compatible with 32-bit and 64-bit systems, and supports native Android and GPU hardware acceleration support.
