Huawei plans to increase its research and development budget by $5.8 billion to more than $20 billion this year, Huawei founder Ren Zhengfei said in an interview with the Wall Street Journal.
This is Ren Zhengfei's first interview with the media since the Spring Festival this year.
In July 2019, Huawei's Chairman Liang Hua said at Huawei's semi-annual report conference that Huawei will invest 120 billion yuan in research and development in 2019, an increase of 18.5 billion yuan from 101.5 billion yuan in 2018.
In an interview, Ren Zhengfei said that most of Huawei's employees have resumed work after the emergence of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, and he believes that the company is expected to achieve its adjusted financial goals. In 2019, Huawei expects annual revenue to reach 850 billion yuan, an increase of 18% year-on-year.
