At the conference of the new P40 series, Huawei also unveiled a voice assistant called Celia. Obviously, it will become a competitor to Apple Siri and Samsung Bixby.
Huawei said that Celia will push its mobile phones via OTA. For outgoing calls, you can use "Hey, Celia" or press and hold the power button for 1 second.
The voice assistant that Huawei launched in the Chinese market is called "Xiao Yi". At the end of last year, Huawei revealed that Celia can be understood as the international version of Xiao Yi.
Celia has been pre-installed in the overseas version of the P40 evaluation machine. When encountering external queries, it will call Huawei's browser for searching. It cannot temporarily be replaced with Firefox, Brave, etc.
Basic functions include answering calls, sending and receiving text messages, setting alarms, checking the weather, and real-time translation.
Celia is currently able to hear English, French, and Spanish, with preliminary plans to launch in the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Chile, Mexico, and Colombia.
Because Huawei's smart ecological products such as smart-screen TVs and speakers can improve the interactive experience with the help of voice assistants.
