WeChat for iOS updated to version 7.0.12 today, bringing the long-awaited Dark Mode feature.
To experience the latest Dark Mode, you need to make sure that the WeChat version is the latest 7.0.12 and the device is an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch with iOS 13 installed.
How to turn on Dark Mode
This update of WeChat claims that it has cooperated with Apple to bring a system-level Dark Mode, which means that this visual effect is switched according to the system level.
There are two known methods to turn on Dark Mode:
1. Through the drop-down center shortcut menu, find the brightness bar on the right side of the screen, press and hold to call the secondary menu, and click "Dark Mode" in the lower left corner.
2. Go to "Settings"-"Display and Brightness", click "Dark" in "Appearance", and click "Light" to turn off the Dark Mode.
First of all, in this version, WeChat has not set up independent switch buttons for Dark Mode like some third-party applications. Turning Dark Mode on and off must follow the system, which may not be friendly to some users.
Although WeChat has set a dark background for each menu, it may take some time for the eyes to adjust.
Especially in the chat dialog, if the background image of the current chat is too bright. Therefore, it is recommended to switch the background to a darker background when using WeChat Dark Mode, which will be more pleasing.
This is only the first version of WeChat Dark Mode, and I believe that this feature will continue to be improved in future updates.
Don't forget that the Dark Mode is a little helpful for OLED iOS devices.
