Chinese reading app iReader today announced the launch of the world's first color e-ink reader iReader C6, which uses a printed color electronic ink screen that can display 4,096 colors.

The iReader C6 is equipped with a quad-core high-speed processor and 16G storage space, and also adds a listening function. iReader said that it has completed mass production of its first color e-ink product and recently launched it.

In January of this year, E Ink Corporation, a leading e-paper manufacturer, launched Print-Color ePaper.

E Ink said that Print-Color ePaper is a new color e-paper technology independently developed, manufactured and produced by E-Ink.

Using new color printing technology combined with electronic paper display technology, the display response speed is fast. It can be read for a long time like black and white electronic paper without hurting the eyes. The display color is soft and moist. With better optical quality.

Therefore, printed color electronic paper is suitable for reading, education, and professional applications, and can be used to produce electronic paper readers or electronic paper notebook applications.

According to QYResearch, China has become the world's third-largest consumer market for e-book readers.

Data show that at the end of 2017, the industry market size reached 3.7 billion yuan, an increase of 8.8% year-on-year. It is estimated that in the next six years, the market size of China's e-book reader industry will grow at a compound growth rate of 15.7%.

It is expected that by 2023, the market size of China's e-book reader industry will exceed 8.5 billion yuan.

At the same time, iFlytek also released an e-reader with the same screen today.

iFlytekโ€™s color e-reader is equipped with a 6-inch high-definition printed color e-ink screen provided by E Ink Technology, which can display 4096 colors.

Appearance adopts flat design, anti-shock, and anti-fall, and equipped with 24 reading lights and integrated speakers. It weighs 150 grams, is 6.9 millimeters thick, is light and comfortable, can be held with one hand, and can be easily put into a pocket or a carry-on bag.

Suitable for children's picture books, comic books, and illustrated books.

Its price has not been announced.
