The CES organizer announced that due to the impact of the new coronavirus pneumonia epidemic, CES Asia, which was originally scheduled to be held in Shanghai, China from June 10 to 12, 2020, will be postponed.
The announcement said the decision reflects the concerns of our stakeholders including exhibitors, buyers, media and speakers. Given the evolving global concerns about and impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19), this is the best decision for everyone involved.
In addition, for CES Asia exhibitors, any payments made for exhibit space will be refunded without penalty.
CES Asia is an exhibition organized by the Consumer Technology Association and co-organized by CEA and Shanghai International Exhibition Center Co., Ltd. It is held regularly in Shanghai every June.
As the vane of the development of cutting-edge technology in Asia, CES Asia showed more than 20 product categories last year, covering 5G, artificial intelligence, AR/VR, and automotive technology.
Affected by the new coronavirus pneumonia epidemic, public events such as the MWC2020 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the Overwatch competition in South Korea, the Google I/O Developers Conference, and the offline MVP Summit in Microsoft have been cancelled. Facebook's F8 conference and Nvidia's GTC conference have been changed to live streaming.
Last week, AWE also officially announced that the 2020 China Home Appliances and Consumer Electronics Expo (AWE2020) was postponed to March 2021 and held in conjunction with AWE2021.
The following is the original announcement:
CES Asia, scheduled to take place in Shanghai, China on June 10-12, 2020 is postponed.
The following statement is attributed to the Consumer Technology Association (CTA)®:
While CES Asia has enjoyed annual growth and success since its 2015 launch in Shanghai, we have decided to postpone CES Asia for 2020. Our decision reflects the concerns of our stakeholders including exhibitors, buyers, media and speakers. Given the evolving global concerns about and impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19), we feel this is the best decision for everyone involved.
We made this decision at this time as we know companies and attendees invest considerable time and effort in planning for trade shows like CES Asia. We hope that sharing this information in a timely manner helps them plan more effectively and conserve resources at this unusual time.
We thank our CES Asia attendees, exhibitors and event partners for their support and understanding.
For CES Asia Exhibitors – Any payments made for exhibit space will be refunded without penalty.
