Chinese tech firm Hisense showed the world's first color e-ink phone at CES 2020, saying that it will begin sales in the middle of this year.
As cnTechPost reported Wednesday, the revolutionary product became true because it used technology from E Ink Corporation, a leading e-paper manufacturer. Now E Ink briefly introduces the technology in its technical manuscript.
E Ink said that following the introduction of Advanced Color ePaper (ACeP), E Ink also introduced Print-Color ePaper technology, which was use to make the world's first color e-ink phone by Hisense.
The company said that Print-Color ePaper is a new color e-paper technology independently developed, manufactured and produced by E-Ink.
It uses new color printing technology combined with electronic paper display technology, and the display response speed is fast. Like black and white electronic paper, it can be read for a long time without hurting the eyes.
The display color is soft and moist. It is thinner and lighter than the past glass color filter electronic paper and has better optical quality, the company said.
Therefore, printed color electronic paper is suitable for reading, education, and professional applications, and can be used to produce electronic paper readers or electronic paper notebook applications.
E Ink said that the next step will be to cooperate with the upstream and downstream ecosystems to launch color electronic paper applications as soon as possible.
